St. Aloysius College, Edathua is a first grade college which has completed forty six years of glorious service to the cause of higher education. The college celebrated Ruby Jubilee in the academic year 2005-06 and is now a well-established NAAC accredited centre of learning offering a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The department of Commerce also offers facility for research leading to the award of Ph.D.

The college is situated in Edathua Panchayat of Kuttanad Taluk in the lake district of Alappuzha in Kerala State. It is the only temple of higher learning of the kind in the entire region of the one time granary of Kerala, Kuttanad.
